Continuity Break - Albright Family

Description

I have such a backlog of drawings to finish that it's not even funny.

Alan Albright - Rather than having the stupidity of an otherwise completely normal human having the ability to transform at will to and from an otherwise completely normal Pyronite, I made Alan into a bit more of a hybrid. His flesh is rock-hard and his blood is basically boiling. The ends of his limbs and head glow from the heat built up in his body. He can't project fire without mechanical assistance, but his ability to create intense heat is useful for a variety of purposes; consequently, he's also fire-proof. He's still an impetuous ten-year-old, looking for adventure and fun. His state as a human-alien hybrid is a significant worry to him.

The three small head pictures are some ideas I thought about for Pyronite-izing Alan a little more. They didn't look quite right to me.

Mason Albright - Here's a significant change; I made Sheriff Mason Alan's over-protective father rather than a terrible asshole corrupt cop so that he's, you know, less awful. He's a retired Plumber; he was still a rookie when Max defeated Vilgax and the Plumbers subsequently shut down. He returned to his home town and worked his way up to Sheriff while also courting his childhood sweetheart.

Shortly after Alan's eighth birthday, a fire caught hold of their house. Alan's mother died in the fire and the heat effectively cremated her; Alan burned to death as well but Mason pulled his corpse from the wreckage before it could suffer the same fate as that of his wife's. Distraught, Mason called in some old favors and had Alan brought back to life via cloning and, still in shock and panicking, had his reborn son infused with Pyronite DNA via experimental means so he couldn't burn again.
The experimental nature of hybridizing the cloned Alan leaves Mason conflicted on whether or not his son was involved in nearby acts of arson, since the procedure could have caused latent personality or psychological issues.

Well, this is certainly an interesting way of remaking him. It also kinda makes me question the father's mental health, because, well, I think you're aware of another distraught parent who tried bringing back their kid via cloning, and how well THAT turned out
