Ben 10: Continuity Break

Description

This is my alternate continuity I thought up. I'm going to be adding it to FanFiction soon as its own entity as well as filler chapters for my main story, Assassin X [link] Here is the link to this story, Ben 10: Continuity Break [link]

Here we go.

The only non-canon character in this picture is John Smith [link] Well, technically, this John is the first of multiple clones created by the malfunctioning Time Belt. As this was in the god Law's Forge of Creation, where he can use stars and solar systems as materials, this John is untouched by time, making him immortal. Law, to get rid of him, gave him the ability to create little rifts in space-time so he could leap between realities and time periods. He stole the Ultimatrix from one of the timestream's Azmuths and then went back to tutor Ben on a whim. He has lived for billions of years and has gained immense powers, both for himself and the Ultimatrix. He tends to keep out of battles, preferring to let the kids handle things on their own, stepping in only when needed.

Ben has had the Omnitrix retooled into the Combinatrix (infinitely better than the Ultimatrix), a creation of both Azmuth and John which allows him to fuse two aliens together. He has become more adept with its use but is still impulsive and hot-headed, being only a year older. He tolerates Charmcaster sticking around but was extremely against Kevin joining them.

Charmcaster and Gwen had a confrontation the first day of the second summer and suffered an incident. Charmcaster's body was de-aged and the two girls' souls were bound together, locking their magic for a time. Eventually, they managed to regain access to it, but they can't use full strength unless they're working together. The bracelets they're wearing allow them to temporarily fuse together to bypass this weakness.

Gwen has become more adept at magic (I'm not changing it; mana manipulation is SHIT [weak glass, wheeee!]) and is extremely proficient in martial arts. She is less strict in her scheduling as well as more lenient with her cousin, but still gets annoyed with him at times. She has bonded with Charmcaster, part in due to their souls being bound together, but also because she felt guilty about the girl's current state. She is still largely distrustful of Kevin.

Am I the only one who saw Charmcaster as a bit of a closet nerd? I don't know why, but I do. Which explains the glasses, taking the place of magically-enhanced sight. She tends to be reclusive, having grown up largely isolated from other children, even among her people in Ledgerdomain (I'm keeping that. And Adwaita and his flaming head). She doesn't have a lot of experience in socializing. She winds up opening up to Gwen and later to the other Tennysons. She has a bit of a rivalry born of distrust between her and Kevin. She reads comic books when she gets a chance and tends to say blatantly nerdy things. Besides Kevin, John, and Max, she is the most adept with technology, watching a lot of Sci-Fi.

... Don't look at me like that, it could happen. >_>

Max is... mostly the same, though he stopped by Cooper's home to get an upgrade to the RV's systems a couple of times (like advanced boosters, allowing the Rustbucket to drive ON THE OCEAN).

Kevin starts out still in his mutant form, though with a few other aliens mixed into his biology. After a couple of attacks on Team Tennyson, John finally got fed up and plunged a few needles into the preteen's chest. Using Time Lord know-how, he purged Kevin's systems of all foreign energy signs... except for Galvan, which provides Kevin with a massively boosted intelligence and rectangular pupils, which he hides with sunglasses and contacts. He is still a bit of a delinquent, commiting petty larceny and smoking. However, John and Ben tend to steal his cigarettes. He tends to act defiantly towards everyone and knows that few of them trust him. However, he only dislikes two of Team Tennyson; John, because he hits and makes fun of him a lot, and Charmcaster, who is perceived as a threat due to also being a reformed villain and through some subconscious fear which I won't go into here.

Not seen in the picture (because I was planning on just having him use tech instead of his osmosis powers and then decided that was boring) is a device strapped to his wrist, designed after the Omnitrix. Inside it is Time Lord tech preventing him from going insane after absorbing energy (matter is just very organised energy) as well as giving him a catalogue of genetic sequences he can use on the fly.

Hex makes a return as a prominent villain, focusing his ire towards Gwen, who he perceives as his arch-nemesis, and Charmcaster, his traitorous neice. He tends to manipulate and attack from the shadows, preferring to keep himself safe from harm. If he ever does go head-to-head, he tries to make it so his target is separated from the main group.

Vilgax also makes a return, having again upped his strength with dangerous genetic experimentation. He is devastatingly powerful and has a ROBOT ARM/CANNON THING THAT I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE DRAWING SO I HID IT BEHIND HIM IN THE PICTURE BUT I'M PRETTY SURE IT'S A CANNON OF SOME SORT YES.
